To Be Visionless

I was blessed with 20/15 vision. I'm the anomaly in my family, the only one without the need for glasses, but it would all go to waste if I didn't use my sight to pursue a career. Like my vision, I have aspirations that don't quite match my peers. Raised around baseball, I fell in love with the sport and wanted to spend the rest of my life around it. The vision I have for myself is to be the first female major league manager. I want to be in the room where it happens, on the field when a rookie makes his debut, or when a veteran plays his last home game. There is a sense of community when you're part of a baseball team and a sense of pride associated with the position. It would be an honor to be a trailblazer for other girls that may possess the same dream as me. I want to use my love for baseball to expand the game and the association of women in sports as a normal career choice. The sports world has been changing, and this pandemic has only been a catalyst allowing for these changes to occur faster. As time goes on the inner operations of the machine that we call baseball will only continue to adapt and change with the society around it.
